Pause. Listen to the Rain.

Raindrops on window image

We had our first rainfall of the season today and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I’ve always loved hearing the pitter-patter of rain on the rooftops, the window, and on my umbrella as I walk in the rain.

There’s something soothing about the gentle, but steady drops of rain.  It starts at a slow pace, tenderly introducing itself though tiny droplets. Even when it increases its pace, with each drop heavier and faster than the last, you can still feel and hear a gentle, musical quality within the steady downpour.

Take the time to listen.  Just close your eyes and hear every drop. It’s nature’s very own orchestra giving a fine performance.

Pay no attention to life’s distractions for a moment. Unplug, unwind, and allow the sound of rain to cleanse your mind. Allow it to wash your cares away.

Listen to the rain. You will be surprised how your mind and soul can feel calm, refreshed and renewed.

Just listen.
